THE ACTUAL NOTICE OF RECALL WAS SENT OUT TO OWNERS, PRIOR TO THAT. IT IS NOW APRIL 12, 2018 AND I HAVE HEARD NOTHING REGARDING THE REPAIRS TO THIS PROBLEMS. THE DEALER TO WHICH I TOOK THE VEHICLE SAID, ONLY "WE HAVE NO IDEA - IT COULD BE MONTHS". THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, AND I AM WONDERING WHAT MY REMEDIES MIGHT BE. I NOW HAVE AN INOPERABLE VEHICLE, UTILIZING A PARKING SPACE THAT I PAY FOR AND, ALTHOUGH BMW IS PAYING FOR A RENTAL CAR, IT IS NOT A BMW. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE.

THIS CAR HAS HAD 2 OPEN RECALLS SINCE OCTOBER 2017: NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 17V676 AND NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 17V683. BOTH OF THESE RECALLS INVOLVE THE POSSIBILITY OF SHORT-CIRCUITING WIRES, MELTING AND POSSIBILITY OF FIRE. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT BMW HASN'T COME UP WITH A SOLUTION FOR THESE ISSUES IN 6 MONTHS.
